A driver forgives a slow charge. A driver does not forgive a dead one. The difference between those two experiences is the entire business.
We instrument every connector to report state continuously — contactor health, coolant temperature, insulation resistance, earth leakage, communication latency with the vehicle. A unit that starts drifting outside its envelope is flagged long before it fails outright, and the fix is scheduled rather than emergency.
When something does break, the charger removes itself from the live map automatically. It is a small thing that matters enormously: a driver who never navigates to a broken charger has, from their perspective, never encountered a broken charger.
Published uptime numbers across the industry deserve scepticism, because almost nobody defines the denominator the same way. We count a connector as unavailable from the second it stops being able to deliver a session to the second it can again — including grid outages, which are outside our control but very much inside the driver's experience.
