What does it actually cost to open a Chargatt franchise?

It depends entirely on the model you pick. A land partnership costs you nothing but the space. Revenue-share sites typically need ₹8–14 lakh from you, and a fully owned hub runs ₹18–32 lakh depending on charger count and the state of the incoming power supply. Every quote we issue is itemised — equipment, civil work, DISCOM charges and software are listed separately, never bundled into a vague lump sum.

How long before a site starts earning?

Commissioning takes 45 to 70 days from signature, with DISCOM approval usually the longest pole. Once live, most sites cover their operating costs within the first quarter, and partners on our revenue-share model typically reach full payback between month 26 and month 34.

How much space do I need?

From roughly 400 sq ft for a two-point DC hub, including safe turning room. What matters more than raw area is access: a clean entry, an exit that does not force a reverse, and a sanctioned load we can build on. Send us a location pin and we will tell you within a week whether it works.

Do I need any experience in energy or automotive?

No. The majority of our partners came from real estate, retail or logistics. You bring the location and local relationships; we bring the engineering, the software and the operating team. Training for you and your on-site staff is part of onboarding.

Which vehicles can charge at a Chargatt point?

Accepted Answer

Every hub carries CCS2 for cars and SUVs, CHAdeMO where local demand justifies it, and Type-2 AC for destination charging. Two and three-wheeler bays with light-EV sockets are standard at city sites.

How fast is fast, really?

Our DC units deliver 60 kW to 240 kW. On a 240 kW charger a typical electric crossover goes from 20% to 80% in about 22 minutes — real-world, on a warm battery. We publish live power curves in the app rather than advertising a peak number you will never see.

What happens if a charger is broken when I arrive?

It should not be — every connector reports its health to our operations centre continuously, and a unit that fails self-diagnostics is taken off the map before you can navigate to it. If you do arrive at a dead charger, the session is on us and support will route you to the nearest working point.

How do payments work?

UPI, credit and debit cards, major wallets, or a post-paid fleet account. Payment settles automatically the moment a session ends and a GST invoice reaches your email and app inbox within minutes.

Is there a subscription or membership fee?

Accepted Answer

No. You pay for the energy you use at the tariff shown before you plug in. Fleet operators can opt into volume slabs, but there is no mandatory membership on any Chargatt point.
